The M5Stack Cardputer Adv is a card-sized programmable computer powered by an ESP32 processor. Truthfully, I'm not at all sure I understand what that means. It has a featuring a 3cm (1.14-inch) LCD display, a 56-key keyboard, and all sorts of other gubbins that I wouldn't know what to do with.
I managed, with a lot of help from the internet, to install an ssh client onto the device. A small script which runs server-side provides access to the text files [1] with which my life is pseudo-organised. The same script can also be used to write (very short!) phlog posts for my gopher hole. Considering its size, the keyboard is very good. There is a good click when a key is pressed, leaving no doubt that it /has/been pressed. That's especially useful when connected to a remote server: there is sometimes a delay between the key press and the screen updating.
Similarly, the screen. Calling it small doesn't come anywhere near. It's teeny-tiny! But it is also bright and clear. With my glasses on, I have no trouble reading it.
Well, almost, no trouble.
I haven't quite fettled all the usability issues. I can make a phlog post and add a note to my workingmemory.txt file, so capturing reminders on the go will be possible. Nano needs a bit of tweaking though. The biggest shortcoming is with calendar.txt. As it stands, the screen is simply too cramped for it to be functional. I have a certain amount of confidence that I will resolve the issue, though. Give it time. Maybe choosing the larger of the font-sizes on offer would help.
